Overview
A Promise Unforgotten is the fourth game in the Disgaea series of tactical role-playing games. Valvatorez, a former tyrant of the Netherworld who has been reduced to working a menial job as Prinny Instructor, ends up leading a rebellion against the president of the Netherworld. The plot plays out in cutscenes between levels. The game proceeds through strategic maps where players take control of Valvatorez and the rest of the cast of characters. The combat is strategic and turn-based; surrounding enemy characters, positioning your own characters effectively, and using abilities at the right times are all keys to winning. In addition to the plot maps, there are infinite randomly-generated battle maps as well as a tool to create and share your own maps and download those of other players.
