This fighting game features over forty playable characters from the Shippuden series battling across forty unique stages. The game follows the Kazekage Rescue Arc of the rich Shippuden story. Several upgrades have been made to the Gekito Ninja Taisen fighting engine with Jutsu attacks, ultimate power moves, specialized chain combinations, and tweaks in Chakra usage for strong hits (less drain in Chakra). This sequel upgraded the graphics and frame rate allowing players to enjoy seamless gameplay. A new feature, stage jumping, allows players to advance both forwards and backwards during stage selection. Gamers can enjoy single player story mode or battle with friends online in tournaments or matched play. Completing tournaments unlocks special abilities, characters, and bonus features. Popular playable characters from the Shippuden series include Naruto Uzumaki, Shino Aburame, Jiraiya, Sasuke Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, Rock Lee, and Kagura.
