Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to the 2009 cult favorite Demon's Souls, is an open world action RPG that has amassed quite the fanbase as a result of it's intriguing setting and hard as nails gameplay. Players will take the role of a cursed human, who travels across the kingdom of Lordran fighting monsters and building their strength whilst learning about the world through their exploration of it. Dark Souls is well known for having a very high difficulty level, as a result of the many complex systems that play into combat and the many boss battles in the game. That being said, it's a very rewarding game for players who can stand to watch their character die over and over again when faced with a difficult boss - but a lot of patience is required.
