Super Paper Mario takes the legendary Italian plumber into entirely new dimensions of exploration and excitement. The game starts out like a traditional, 2-D Mario adventure with unique, stylized visuals that recall the original Super NES Paper Mario. As the action progresses, though, players find themselves thrown into a fully 3-D environment similar to Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy. Throughout the course of the game, solving puzzles and reaching new areas requires strategically switching between the 2-D and 3-D perspectives. This thoroughly fresh gameplay mechanic brings a substantial breath of fresh air to the tried-and-true Mario formula. It also allows gamers to enjoy both classic and modern-style Mario action together in one game. This time around, though, players aren't restricted to controlling just Mario. They'll also have play as Princess Peach and Bowser in order to successfully reach the game's conclusion.
