In another action-packed story in the acclaimed Metal Gear series, you take on the role of Naked Snake in 1970s Latin America. Peace Walker is set between the stories of Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and the original Metal Gear thriller. Naked Snake, also known as Big Boss, sets out with his "Soldiers Without Borders" to maintain peace in neutral Costa Rica in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Single player gameplay offers a series of missions with expansive replay value, offering new enemy actions as well as new tools and devices. To conquer enemies, players are able to target specific places on the enemy's body for maximum damage. Mission success is determined according to elapsed time and number of enemies killed, in addition to other criteria. Multiplayer options include two-player stealth missions as well as four-player boss battles.
