In a game that unites first person platforms with adventure role-playing, players explore Los Angeles as a fledgling vampire member of one of seven vampire clans. The player hones vampire skills by leveling up in quests while visiting sketchy hotels, vampire night clubs, caverns of Downtown, and Sunset Strip mansions. The quests must be completed in creative ways to develop a vampire with skills that the player wants. Players choose who they are as a vampire, including gender and allegiance. These choices change how the player interacts with the game as a whole, changing conversation options, interactions with humans, humanity points, and masquerade points. Players must behave, if they want, or go their own way to develop into the powerful vampire they want to be.
