Overview
One of the longest running video game franchises continues with Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Konami released the action-adventure game as a continuation of a previous title, Aria of Sorrow. It incorporates many of the same gameplay elements of previous games and introduces the Magic Seal system, in which players draw a pattern on screen to complete spells or rituals which aid in defeating bosses. In Dawn of Sorrow, players follow the reincarnation of Dracula, Soma Cruz, as he struggles to regain his lost powers. Soma ventures into Dracula's castle to fight a mystical cult whose aim is to revive the dark lord. Throughout the game, Soma struggles to fight the temptations of Dracula's power and choose his own path in life. The game has garnered many game of the year awards for its compelling story and in-depth characters.
