The air war is on in the biggest battlefield in history: World War II's Pacific theater, where Allied planes take on the fighters, bombers and kamikaze pilots of Japan over a pitiless expanse of shark-infested ocean. The game renders aircraft in stunning detail, and challenges players with intense air-to-air and air-to-ground battles over painstakingly drawn, historically accurate island archipelagos. Player/pilots proceed through the major combat events of the war, starting with the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor and concluding with the deadly combat over Iwo Jima. Take on a series of increasingly difficult combat missions, fly Allied Hellcats or Japanese Zeroes, or challenge other players to single dogfight combat in multiplayer mode. As you gain experience, you can add new weapons, armor and abilities to your arsenal, and accumulate XBox Achievement points by taking on the game's toughest missions.
