Overview
A third-person role-playing game, Neverwinter Nights was developed by Bioware and was published by Atari, though Interplay Entertainment was originally slated to be the publisher. Set in a fantasy world, this game was named after the first very graphical MMO with the same name. Neverwinter Nights was re-released as a Platinum edition after its new expansion, and a new expansion after that prompted the release of the Diamond edition, which packaged everything together. A couple of years following the release of Neverwinter Nights, Bioware began to sell premium modules as a part of its online program. These modules would provide brand new stories to play in the game, similar to a game expansion but with the convenience of ordering through the Bioware website. Any of the stories that were purchased for Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition could be played without an Internet connection.
